Old Flash Drive For Cheap Security
After googling for ways to keep my laptop safe for hours, I think I need some eye creams for my tired eyes. But i found a really cheap way from Unplugged to do it and not difficult either. With a USB flash drive and just any flash drive .. in fact a cheap old one is good enough, one can download a program called - LaptopAlarm - a free software. Fasten a neck strap to your old USB key and then fasten the other end of the strap to a table. Plug in the USB key into the USB port of your laptop and lock the laptop by pressing the Windows logo key and L key together.
And this is what happens when someone tries to steal your laptop .. while you are not looking or working on it. It would cause a loud siren sound to notify you that someone is trying to steal your laptop or removing it completely from the desk. Plus the software - LaptopAlarm sends and alert to your mobile phon. Cool or not..?? Free and easy to use.. and gives you some peace .. without fearing to leave your workstation .. to use the washroom. I’m getting it right now.. as i speak.
