I’ve always respected John Chow - the self professed dot.com mogul who teaches people to make money online - who also claimed that he makes $40K a month. About 10 days ago, I wrote to inform him that i no longer wishes to join his affiliate TTZ Media that I was on from February 2009. I did make a few months of money but nothing to shout about - and when there were no record or report of my earnings for months - i just let it slide thinking that nobody clicked on my TTZ ads. 10 days today - i never received a response from the affiliate that i had joined of John Chow that sells cell phone cases and other electronics like computers, cellphones, cameras etc.
So i went on the internet to see if I was the only one having this problem - only to find out that there were many that haven’t been paid since November 2009. Shocking eh? very! One of the victim had received an email from John Chow stating :
This is John Chows answer: (He’s not going to pay us)
Here’s the situation so far. My upstream provider, the one who supplies me the ads, has closed up shop without paying me. This is why I haven’t been able to pay you. This is also why the stats stop working. I’ve been trying to find another provider but so far haven’t much luck. If I can’t find a new provider by end of this month, then most likely I will have to close the ad network.
I want to make it clear that I am not stealing yours money or any affiliate’s money. That really would be a stupid thing to do as I would only gain 1 month of income instead of continuing income like we have done in the past. Until I get the money from my provider, I can’t pay you out. However, the chance of getting the money isn’t high.
What puzzles me is - till 10 days ago - John Chow still has the TTZ Join My Affiliate banner on his blog and if TTZ no longer exist - why would he keep it there. And if it was his upstream provider that didn’t pay him - shouldn’t he have the courtesy to post something up on his famous blog? I’m not mad but thoroughly disappointed with John Chow, i did look up to him but I’ve unsubscribed and blocked him on my Facebook and i told all my close blogging friends to do the same and not listen to his bullshit no more. Someone who don’t even have the courtesy to tell his affiliates what is going on - don’t deserve my following - even his dot.com Pho - that i follow every week - is banned from my viewing.
