New Displays @ Our Store

If you have been to our store of late - you would have seen the new displays that we have at our store.  Yes ! and it made a huge difference - to our customers - they all love our point of purchase displays because they think it makes the store a lot neater and gives an illusion of a lot more space.  I like our new look too - and it was a good investment because all our displays were old ones and it was time for a revamping.  Plus they were made of cardboard - so it was easy to set up - we didn’t need extra help for setting the displays up - we did it ourselves.

Make Money Online

I’ve always been asked by people if one can really make money online and how do you know that it is not a scam?   Can you really make money online?  how much could you make?  can you live off your earnings from making money online? do i get instant money?  how many hours do i have to work to make money online?

All valid questions and there is no easy answers to all.  How would you know if it is a scam? it’s through trial and errors.  In my 3 years doing it - I’ve seen all sorts and experience not getting paid also after doing a review.  How much you can make - depends on how much networking and how much you ae willing to work.  If you have traffic on your blogs or not.  Some people live on what they make online like Pro-blogger - Darren Rowse and yes - sometimes you can make instant money by just placing a link if the advertiser/s fancies your blog.  And how many hours you work all depends on yourself.  And yes - there are so many things you can do to make money online - from Google Adsense to Linkbucks and writing reviews or become a house writer for a online magazine to a foodbuzz publisher writing about food. it takes time to explore and like i said - it’s all trial and errors.  Anyone asking you to buy a book on how to make money online is nothing but a scam - networking is the most important - so network, network and more network.

U Squeeze

I was looking for natural joint pain relief for myself -because at 45, I’m telling you - my joints hurt a lot at times.  And then of course - being an Osim fan - someone introduced the U Squeeze to me since I am diabetic and need to make sure that my blood flow is good on the legs.

It is said that the U Squeeze dilates the blood vessels to aid blood flow throughout your body, thus enhancing oxygen distribution.  It is said to detoxify by flushing out lactic acids and this new machine has reflexology massages to help with the vital points of your body.  It is believed by the Asians that all your vital points ends at your feet.   At $599 Cdn - it’s not as expensive as I’ve expected - I’m really going to think about it - because i love massages.

Travel Much ?

For some who travels a lot like my girlfriends - besides remembering to bring along their  quick weight loss handbook and pills - one also need the above.  What is it - I hear you asking?  Travel light and travel clean is what i call the above.  Each of these Travel Toiletries is a marvel of modern science. Open a pack, remove one of the 50 sheets, and add water. It dissolves into a cleaning product, which you then can use as you are already (hopefully) accustomed. In our experience, 3-4 sheets of shampoo will clean a moderate head of hair. As for the body wash, it will depend on the size of the body you are cleaning, naturally. These are perfect to keep in your desk, your purse, your man bag, your carry-on luggage - everywhere you might encounter unwanted grime.  Now tell me this isn’t the best thing - anyone has invented for the true traveler - especially those with kids.

Dell’s Warranty

If you are by any chance getting a Dell - make sure that it is new - now if you are getting it previously owned or even if you are buying it from a relative - please note that it’s not as easy as buying  big and tall clothing .  Why? because Dell does not warranty your computer - even though they sold an extended warranty to the original owner.  You see about a year ago, we bought one previously owned one - when the keyboard started to go bonkers - we called Dell up because of the extended warranty - but guess what ?  Dell make us go for a merry-go-round and kept telling us that the original owner is not what we claimed to be.  They refused to help us - politely.  I’m not impressed with Dell at all - i did get my keyboard and power supply fixed by with another computer store - but i will never buy a Dell even if they were new.  So watch out if you are buying a Dell.

Desk Top Air Purifier

I’m looking out for these - desktop air purifier by Vion, supposedly to come out for sale in June - but i can’t find anything about it online.  The Japanese site of King Jim doesn’t really say much more about it - except that it can be used in your bedroom, washroom, smoking room and even your pet room.   Does it really work - i’ll have to see more reviews about it first.

Netbook

So I’ve always eyed on a netbook and wondered whether it was worth getting one.  I’ve debated with myself for years now and even though I bought some hot tub covers with no hesitation - because it was a necessity - the netbook - well i was very el cheapo about it.  So when someone brought one in to the store to sell it to us - the spouse bought it and even then i debated whether to bring it home or to re-sell it.  Anyhow, while waiting for someone to buy it - i decided to bring it home to try it out.  Darn! it was really hard to work with the netbook even though it was neat to have - but if one use it for traveling - i guess it is great - but to use it to do real work - well - it can kill.  It’s just not convenient - because the screen is way too small and the keyboard on it - mannn..!! it’s hard to type on.  So I guess i won’t be keeping my netbook for long.

Vinyl Records

We had just bought a bunch of Vinyl records to sell at the store and while going thru’ them found some that were quite dusty - of course - I can’t remember how to clean Vinyl now - it had been so long - even longer than when i took  prenatal vitamins .  So  what do smart ppl do …??  we left it alone .. hahahah!! well today - when i found out that one can clean your vinyl records using wood glue.   You apply the wood glue directly onto your vinyl and then when it is dried you just peel it off and there you have it. Have i tried it..?? no ..  but i will for sure.. we have hundreds of vinyl here plus ppl from the internet swears that it works, I’ll try one just because.   Wonder if anyone knows how to fix wobbly vinyl.

Pre-Order Your iPad

So I  received an email from Apple today asking me to do my pre-order now - a month away.  I was quite gung ho about getting one as soon as they were on sale just like when i wanted to buy a  stone sink for my new house.  But after hearing all the pros and cons and common sense tells me i should wait for the 2nd generation ones before buying - i’m still tempted.   John Chow seems to like the iPad a lot and was planning to buy a big chunk of shares from Apple.  He is usually not wrong about some stuff - but I’m not as rich as he is - so I’m gonna wait for abit.  What about you?

Online Studies

I would love to go back to school and upgrade myself - inspired by a community group back home, we were chatting about building a new town - or more like revitalizing it, the topic about folks like us - even older than go back to school and upgrade ourselves.  I for one am dying to do that and an  online university would be the way for me to go.   Why ? because we own our own business and my kid is very young and to pursue an online mba fits my lifestyle and it is recognized and highly regarded by most employers.  But most importantly I can do my studies wherever I am and not be restricted to be at school in one place and at my own pace.   So yes, if i am ever going back to upgrade, it will have to be done with a reputable and accredited program with lots of help when i need.
