Big news CEO of Apple Steve Jobs has announced its resignation. Wow!! I really didn’t think he would resign – but I’m guessing his health must have taken a worst turn? since he had been plague with health issues for a long time. Tim Cook will take over Steve’s duties and become the next CEO. The question is will Apple do as well and better without Steve? your guess is as good as mine.
Hate them but can’t do without them – so I’ve decided to get a different kind of visa card – a visa reward cards were the ones that was recommended to me by my friends. Some people like to collect air miles – while I like to collect cash back – or free stuff – with very low interest – should I not be able to clear my credit card at the end of the month. I spend a lot of money on shopping – so a good credit card is definitely a must for me, plus this techy chick is tech savvy right – so I did a little research – and found the one I wanted and would work best for me. What about you ? how do you choose a credit card? do you use your credit card for anything and everything – and spend beyond your means? or are you like myself and only spend what you can afford? I like just 2 credit cards – and the limit must not be too much – why 2? because i need one for back up just in case something goes wrong. And even though I love shopping – I never spend beyond my means.
I never used to like boots – not until I came to Canada – now I shop for boots all the time. So when I got some urban outfitters coupon I decided to take a look at some boots sold online and found this awesome looking boots. Now this boots will take me thru’ from now till the falls and the early winter. I love that it has a thick heel, making it a lot better to walk on. I love boots like that – because it goes with just about anything – from jeans to a skirt – so versatile and easy to mix and match. I could never have worn something like that back home for it is so hot back home – but over here – it’s cold most times – so it’s a good buy for less than $100 – and with the coupons – it’s even better.
Sometime in June this year – Google introduced Google plus – on trial basis – as a gmail user – I was invited by another gmail account holder to try out Google plus – but being on Facebook already took up so much of my time – I asked myself if I needed another social networking app. I didn’t check it out immediately until some friends added me into their circles – so i decided – what the heck – and to take a few minutes and see what is this Google plus all about. Truth be told till today – I’m still not really making use of Google plus – although according to Google they already have like 1 billion users/signed up? But you can use Google plus on your iPhone just like Facebook and video chat too – those in the same circle. And google had been trying hard to convince people that Facebook is a thing of the past and old news. Just like Google they want to own the internet market – from advertising to everything. So some 19 hrs ago – google announced that it has free games for anyone with a Google Plus account. I’m gonna try it out today – and tell you more about it later. Are you on Google plus yet?
I’m trying to look like that ! but of course – you know me – my weight is like a yo – yo and currently - I don’t look like this – but I’m determined to look like this because as soon as I loose some weight – I’m going to do something really special for myself. What? you asked? I want to retake some wedding pictures in a because sexy wedding dress – a short skirt ones. I have everything planned – and am really hoping I get to retake my wedding pictures soon. So now to get some fat burners that work and do some work out and stop eating junk and this techy chick is not going to spend so much time on the computer this summer. I’m going to go outdoors – get lots of fresh air and lose those stubborn fats! wish me luck eh! So don’t invite me to try out any games – or food – unless it’s going swimming or basketball playing.
We needed a printer not just to print our daily report but also print movie covers or even game covers for the store when someone brings in a copy and had lost the original box. How they managed to do that – I don’t know but there are many a times – the cover comes back destroy – so when we decided to get a new color printer – we wanted something that prints not only good pictures but also easy on the toner cartridges as they are not cheap. But these days – one can get color printer at good prices – now it’s the toner cartridges that you have to consider – where to buy and how much a toner cartridge can last you. We buy our toner cartridges from our friendly local store that we can count on – with a good price and friendly staff and they are very knowledgeable as well.
We were recommended the Brother MFC 990CW – the last time we bought our color printer and loved it to bits. This printer not only prints good color pictures – it scans, copy, does our faxing and has a storage capability that uses a USB flash drive. What i like best is its LCD screen – making us look so advance and techie looking – our customers who comes into our store usually gawk at the LCD screen – hahahha! We use the wireless handset – and double up the fax machine as a phone – when our phone line is busy and it has a bluetooth that one can use too. We paid like $250 for this machine – so you can see why we are raving about it – the toner lasted us for a long time too – so we are pretty happy with our color printer/scanner/copier/fax machine.

So we were in the city during the iPad 2 launch and yes there is a Mac store in Halifax and I have to say that the sales dept at all Mac stores are one of the best that I’ve seen. But having said that I bet Apple pays more for their sales jobs more than anyone in the city. I hear that at the Future shop – the guys there just earns a commission and they are not paid an hourly rate.
We own our own small business too – and know how important customer service is for any sales job – knowing your customers by name is very important for it makes them feel really special. But in a small town – it’s hard to give personalize service when you know just about everyone – and where they come from. And so doing a sales job in a small town requires a lot of tack and a lot of patients. Plus in a small town – you can’t afford to loose any customers. Not everyone is into do a sales job and for those who are doing it – I know for sure it cannot be an easy job – like my boss used to say – it takes a very special person to do a sales job.

While most people would use a video conferencing software for their businesses – I think it can be marketed to be used for people with long distance relationship (LDS). Did you know that my spouse and I had a LDS for 6 years before we met and got together? Now if only they had this video conferencing software that is so reliable than the free ones we used back then 17 years ago – it would have save me tons of money. Every month I would pay $1000s of dollars just for long distance phone call – because the free software was pretty crappy. Had the technology been like now – it would have been perfect – we won’t have to worry about the lapse in connection time and getting disconnected constantly. Plus chatting with his family and friends would have been so much easier and he wouldn’t have to worry when he had to travel for work. Now paying $39/month is a lot cheaper than the 1000s i had to pay in long distance call and by the way there are a lot of people in United States who moved away for work – husband in one place and the wife in another – a blogging friend of mine – just did that – she is in Chicago – while he is in North Carolina – now they could use a reliable video conferencing software eh.
