Convention Events

 cats1

The spouse and I attended a recent convention event  in the city as a sponsor.  Since we were given a table during the convention to sell our goods, we found some  fitted tablecloths from here  to make our display table look nice and presentable.   And I wished that everyone had some kind of fitted tablecloths for their table because some just put all their goods on the plain table making some tables looked so plain and in fact quite ugly.

Everyone had asked where we had gotten our tablecloths and wished they had some too but we only bought one for ourselves , now had we known that others would like some I would have ordered more online.  Unfortunately, most convention event organizers do not provide anything except tables and chairs for the convention and the rest is up to you to dress up your display.

PS Vita Owners $50 Claim

001

So I read today that if you own a PS Vita, Sony may owe you $50 in credit or a $50 in merchandise credit or $25 in cash.  But hold your horses, don’t be like me, and getting all excited because you have to have that PS Vita before 1 June 2012 and you probably need to prove that you are the owner before then.

So my question is – would anyone go thru’ all this trouble just for $50 in credit or $25 in cash?  I wouldn’t – way too much work for such a small amount for return.  But it’s good to know that Sony is being penalized for false advertising in 2012 , telling gamers and to be owners of a PS Vita that the system’s remote play, cross platform and cross save features.  Which obviously isn’t true.

“Sony claimed, for example, that PS Vita users could pause any PS3 game at any time and continue to play the game on their PS Vita from where they left off,” the FTC says. “This feature, however, was only available for a few PS3 games, and the pause-and-save capability described in the ads varied significantly from game to game. For example, with respect to MLB 12: The Show, consumers could only save the game to the PS Vita after finishing the entire nine-inning game on their PS3. In addition, Sony failed to inform consumers that to use this feature, purchasers had to buy two versions of the same game — one for their PS3 and one for the PS Vita.”

So I was told that Sony must send an email to those they can find as owners of the early PS Vita but for those who didn’t received them, and can prove that yours was bought before June 2012, well, go claim your $50 in credit or $25 in Cash.

Fried Chicken Orea Faked

cats

Did you really fall for it?  Ahhh..!!  good old internet !!  all the things that people can come up with.  While some people may like fried chicken alot I can’t see Oreo making it and putting it on the shelf.  And yes, it’s confirmed that it’s fake , so no worries , no clogging of anyone’s arteries.

Google #2

Google is currently #2 after Apple and is currently the second richest tech firm but this must not come in as a surprised to everyone else why are they called Lord Google by bloggers and any company who wants to advertise online to make their products known.  But don’t let me get started on that – that would be another story for another day.  So it’s Apple first and then Google followed by Microsoft now.  Google’s shares had been steadily rising this year – according to the newspaper.

Apple Against Samsung Again

Yes, Apple is at it again, getting the courts involved in getting an injunction for some of Samsung’s phone – 8 in fact I heard.  A US Jury already found that Samsung did indeed copied some features of the iPhone and iPad and incorporated them into their Samsung phones – Apple was earlier awarded a $1.05 billion in damages.  Samsung may lose a lot of business because of this ban.  But Apple had been winning a lot of battle recently – even with Google.

Comex 2012

Comex 2012 will start in 2 days in Singapore and I’m missing it for sure.  The last time I was at a Comex was more than 10 yrs ago and during that time it was a very happening event and loads of people attended the event and not only Singaporeans.  The Comex events attracts many buyers from all over the world and people from around the world are there to showcase their new products.

I heard that this year there will be lots of bargain and of course beautiful and attractive sales models parading with skimpy uniforms as usual.  And to be honest, I don’t really understand why you need skimpy dressed girls in the exhibition.  But anyone – if you are in Singapore be sure to go for it – because you also get loads of freebies.

Slow Computers

Customers ask us all the time about their slow computers and what is wrong with them and if there is anything we can do for them to make the computer/laptop go faster.  There are a lot of reasons for a slow computer or a laptop but most likely it is because you’ve got a lot of spyware and malware.  The problem with most people who are not tech savvy, you probably don’t know that everytime you download stuff or go to a website, you may sometimes bring and store spyware in your computer/laptop.    Registry cleaner are what we use for stubborn computers/laptops that an ordinary clean up won’t ease the problem.  Customers loved us because we can clean up their computers/laptops so fast and return it to them within 24hrs – some even think that we have to work on their computers for a long time but truth be told we know a trick or two.   So if you have a slow computer  – no worries we can help by using a good registry cleaner.

Digital Price Tagging

Digital pricing tags may not be popular here yet but in Singapore and other parts of the world – like South Africa – already started digital price tags.  Japan had digital price tags since 2006 – and some parts of USA has digital price tags.  So what are the pros and cons of digital price tagging?

I say it makes everything easier for the night shift fellas –  who needs to take stock and re – price everything if they needed to go on sale or not on sale.  The cons – would be – the hacking part into the store  – I haven’t heard of any yet – but we’ll have to see eh.  So how much is changing everything into digital price tagging?   I figured it must be a lot – but no one had reported the cost as of yet – but small businesses like ours – I doubt you will see digital price tagging anytime soon.  Even Walmart may not go digital price tagging – since they won’t even chipped their debit and credit card machine.

BuckyBalls Pink

Pink is definitely pretty – but you must be wondering what do they do right?  I wondered too – I walked around Staples the other day and saw these on sale.  So I looked at it – and it didn’t really tell me a lot.  These buckyballs has 216 neo-magnet balls and are made with nickel finish.  Well, I found a video on youtube on it – and it looked pretty fun – basically – you just turned them into things and shapes you want. Apparently, these are made to relieve stress but not for kids to play with – guess they are afraid that kids may swallow them – and I won’t rule that out – because I pushed an eraser into my nose when I was a kid.  What was I thinking right?  Pretty amusing – and it would cost you like $30 for them – after shipping.
