Online Studies

I would love to go back to school and upgrade myself - inspired by a community group back home, we were chatting about building a new town - or more like revitalizing it, the topic about folks like us - even older than go back to school and upgrade ourselves.  I for one am dying to do that and an  online university would be the way for me to go.   Why ? because we own our own business and my kid is very young and to pursue an online mba fits my lifestyle and it is recognized and highly regarded by most employers.  But most importantly I can do my studies wherever I am and not be restricted to be at school in one place and at my own pace.   So yes, if i am ever going back to upgrade, it will have to be done with a reputable and accredited program with lots of help when i need.

Xbox 360 Elites At $100 Less

While everyone can afford a  desktop computers because it is a necessity.. one have to think twice before getting a xbox 360.  But as of August 28, 2009, you can now afford the xbox 360 elite because of a price reduction of a $100.  This was officially announced by Microsoft.  At $299 - it is definitely a must by for this Christmas - I am wondering if they had to reduce the price because of the PS3 .. but i prefer the xbox 360 to the PS3 anytime.

The Arcade remains at the same price of $199 and the Pro will be at $249 instead of $299 and while supplies last.. they are not making anymore of the Pro .. so i hear.

Noting that the announced price reduction would lure new buyers, and simplify its product mix for manufacturers, retailers and customers, Dennis said: “It really makes the decision for consumers a lot easier. They’re either price conscious and they gravitate toward the Arcade or they the want the full Xbox 360 experience.”

While Xbox is the second-ranking gaming console in the US, after Nintendo’s $249-priced Wii, the sales of Xbox have been comparatively more robust in 2009 - with a 17 percent rise in the US sales, Xbox has been the only console in positive territory!

CRT Causes Skin Cancer ?

I was happily typing away.. when my grandaunt shouted from the bedroom.. that CRT causes cancer.. and i shouldn’t go on the computer too much.  So i rolled my eyes.. and put it behind me.. afterall, i do take care of my skin.. and i have my daily skin care routine - shouldn’t that be good enough..?? So this is what i found out below.  I think i better stop spending so much time on the computer eh.

Studies show that long-term exposure to radiation increases the risk of all forms of cancer, tumors, blood disorders, miscarriage, headaches, insomnia, anxiety, aging of the skin, skin burn, etc.

Radiation exposure over time can cause skin burn, dry wrinkled skin and photo aging. This skin damage is identical to sun damage and causes the same health problems. Many electronic products that we use on a daily basis expose us to harmful radiation.

A television, microwave oven, cellular phone and computer are examples of products that emit radiation. To preserve your health use electronic products carefully, in ways that shield your body from radiation.

Computer radiation is most harmful to skin health because we sit directly in front of the computer for long periods of time with our face absorbing the radiation. Lessening this type of harmful radiation is important.

Death Of The Red Ring

Ever since the xbox 360 was on sale .. some years ago, I keep hearing about the red ring of death.  I’m kinda surprised that there are some ppl who still donch know that xbox or microsoft warranties this by default.  Many customers comes in .. and try to sell them to us for parts in which we would advise them to give a call to Microsoft.   They pretty much take care of you . .from the time.. they pick up the call.. and pay for the shippinig and all.

But having said all the above.. I’m sure Microsoft wants to see the death of the Red Ring more than anyone else.  Can’t imagine them.. liking the fact that they are paying extras.. for all the shipping and sending out new or refurbished machines.   Microsoft began sneaking out Xbox 360s with the smaller, cooler 65 namometer “Falcon” CPU chipset inside when they released the Halo 3 special edition console this past holiday.  And while they said it is less prone to the same problem, it’s the next revision of the system codenamed “Jasper” that would elimate the problem once and for all.  Jasper will be on sale in August.

Killed By Laptop

SURREY, B.C. - Mounties in Surrey, B.C., say a woman who died in a car accident last month appears to have been killed by her laptop computer.

Heather Storey, 25, was driving to work March 16 when her vehicle was hit by a tow truck. Storey’s laptop was sitting unsecured in her back seat and RCMP spokesman Sgt. Roger Morrow says the vehicle’s abrupt stop sent the computer flying into the back of Storey’s head. The force of the blow was so severe that it shattered the computer’s screen and bent the frame.

The coroner determined that Storey died as a result of blunt force trauma.

Morrow says investigators believe the accident was survivable and that police are warning the public to secure their belongings while driving.
