Online Studies

I would love to go back to school and upgrade myself - inspired by a community group back home, we were chatting about building a new town - or more like revitalizing it, the topic about folks like us - even older than go back to school and upgrade ourselves.  I for one am dying to do that and an  online university would be the way for me to go.   Why ? because we own our own business and my kid is very young and to pursue an online mba fits my lifestyle and it is recognized and highly regarded by most employers.  But most importantly I can do my studies wherever I am and not be restricted to be at school in one place and at my own pace.   So yes, if i am ever going back to upgrade, it will have to be done with a reputable and accredited program with lots of help when i need.

A laptop left on a sofa has been blamed for causing a fire which killed a man in Vancouver.

According to the Coroners Service of British Columbia, the fire – which happened earlier in 2009 – was caused when the lithium-ion battery in the laptop overheated because of the lack of ventilation and set fire to the sofa.

The coroner – who declined to name the make of laptop – pointed to prior incidents of laptop batteries overheating.

Free for a year.. and then pay for it a year later.. now that sounds awesome right..??  heard so much about it lately. . but really don’t wanna try it out yet.. for fear of all the drivers i have to look for and all.The Windows 7 is suppposedly to be Microsoft not only newest baby but a huge user interface overhaul since Windows 95. They say that it recognizes cameras, printers and other add ons immediately and great for those who loves their gadgets like yours truly .. but hate to have to look for drivers.   Windows 7 also knows all about music and movies addition .. and apparently they can master them all.   Looks like it is gonna be easier than i thought.. so i won’t be needing the best fat burners from spending hours in front of the computer.. searching for drivers, since it seems to do so  much.  If anyone had tried it .. please let me know… i’m gonna wait for abit.. like i did with Vista.

Killed By Laptop

SURREY, B.C. - Mounties in Surrey, B.C., say a woman who died in a car accident last month appears to have been killed by her laptop computer.

Heather Storey, 25, was driving to work March 16 when her vehicle was hit by a tow truck. Storey’s laptop was sitting unsecured in her back seat and RCMP spokesman Sgt. Roger Morrow says the vehicle’s abrupt stop sent the computer flying into the back of Storey’s head. The force of the blow was so severe that it shattered the computer’s screen and bent the frame.

The coroner determined that Storey died as a result of blunt force trauma.

Morrow says investigators believe the accident was survivable and that police are warning the public to secure their belongings while driving.

Windows Mobile 6.5

Posted by: techychick  /  Category: Cellphones, Gadgets, On The WWW

It looks like Windows Mobile 6.5 will arrive a little earlier than expected. A post on the WinMo team blog says that the update to Redmond’s smartphone platform will officially launch on May 11, the first day of the Tech Ed conference. We’re figuring that could mean we’ll see the gold build demoed for the very first time, seeing how the version showed off at the glamorous MWC launch was described as an “alpha” cut. Of course, after that it’s all up to the carriers and handset manufacturers as to when we’ll actually see the OS loaded onto devices, but we’re sure the hacking community will find a way to satiate the impatient until then or until Windows Mobile 7 comes out.
