Turning Old Games Into Cash

Why keep games you don’t play anymore sitting on the shelf collecting dust?  why not turn them into cash or trade them in – and get other games you haven’t played before?  While some hang on to their games with sentimental value – for years, others smartens up and trade them for other games – instead of spending full price on another game.  But if I was trading them in for cash or credit, I would do it with a local store instead of big names like EB Games or Game Stop. Why?  because they won’t give you the kind of value a local store would – well, in my town anyway.  So yes, i’m supporting a local store – and also give a chance to others who cannot afford a new game to play with.  If you sell it to EB games or Game Stop – they would turn around and sell it for more than your friendly, local store owned by local people.

Drawsome For Wii

Instead of buying a Udraw for my kid – we decided that the Drawsome which is way less in money wise would be a more feasible toy for the kid.  Who wants to pay like $60 for the same thing right?  So knowing that our kid loves to draw, we bought this $20 something drawing pad/sketch piece for her to draw with.

She did have fun with it for a few days but hasn’t played with it for a few weeks now.  It’s pretty simple to use – and it comes with 2 games – and like i said – it is great for someone who loves to draw and color.  But having said that   – you can’t really save it on a thumb drive to print them out easily.

The pad is a great size for a kid – if you are an adult than this is not for you.

Like I said – 2 games comes with it Sketch Quest and a smurf game.  And for $20 – I’ll say it’s worth it.

Udraw Wii Tablet

I had so wanted to buy this udraw wii tablet for my daughter – who loves to draw for Christmas – but alas – the reviews I’ve read and seen on youtube didn’t prove to be such a good buy after all.  Sad ! coz’ I had really wanted to get this for my kid.

As you can see in this picture – it’s wired – and the wire is darn short and the surface for drawing is pretty small – therefore maneuvering the pen on the surface isn’t going to be so good.  Plus a downside of the Wii udraw tablet – they don’t have any tutorial on it – so if you are an 8 yrs old – you will need a lot of help from an adult – meaning the trials and errors the adult needs to go thru’ first.  But like any kid – they don’t want to wait to play on their new toy – they want to do it right now and play with it right now – so not really such a great gift for Christmas – so I’m going to hold back on this for now.

Hello Kitty Seasons Wii

So you want to do something with your kids instead of just hogging the tv during the weekend on your own – so that you don’t feel so bad – and the wife wouldn’t think that you are ignoring your daughter?  this is what you do – get the Hello Kitty Seasons if you have the Wii system and start playing with her.  The Hello Kitty Seasons is a really fun game and kids from 4 – 10 yrs old will enjoy this game.  The games are simple and yet not as easy as it seems and takes practice to be perfect.

Kids can play on their own once they are confident about the games – or you can play multi-player with them or they can have their lil’ friends over and enjoy the game.  I played it with my daughter and she loved it – I think she also loved the company too – and it’s a great daughter and mother game or a daughter and daddy’s game.

Netflix On Your Wii Disc Free

Yup ! you heard right !  now you can stream your netflix on your Wii without the disc.  A few months ago – we arleady knew that you can do it with your PS3 – and for the xbox – it should be coming soon.  But for those who are using the Wii – know that there is only limited storage space for your movies – so streaming would not be such high quality as you would find with your PS3 – but like PC World said – to keep the kids happy – the Wii would do for now.  But for $9 a month – that’s not a bad deal at all.  Enjoy!

Wii Fit

I’m sure everyone by now has one but not me.  We just acquired one recently at a really cheap price, therefore, the entire family wanted to try it out.  Me..?? or course i wanted to try .. afterall, i need to get those ugly belly fat taken care of.   The Wii Fit is a very fascinating machine.. and i can see myself.. working on it.. whenever time permits.  I think i am gonna keep it at the store.. and exercise on it.. every hour for 10 mins each time.  Why..?? because the winter is cold here.. and it can be really hard to do any walking.. so a Wii Fit can do simple things like stretching or running on the spot is always an ideal way to go.

Wii Bike

So i saw this online the other day.. and thought to myself.. this is a joke.  But then.. i thought about it again.. this can actually work.  Motivated yet..??  don’t worry .. i know what you are thinking . .but after i got my humidifier filters i took a whole new perspective of this would be my plan to stay fit especially during the long winter months here.  I don’t know what the prices are right now..but it should be here by Christmas i heard.

Best Selling Game

Mario Kart Wii was the biggest selling game across the UK, US and Japan last year, shifting nearly 9 million copies.  That’s according to a Top Global Markets report – a collaboration between GfK Chart-Track (UK), NPD (US) and Enterbrain (Japan).

Wii Fit came a close second, followed by GTAIV, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and COD: World at War.

Grand Theft Auto IV led the pack back in August, when the only other change had been Guitar Hero III in place of Call of Duty: World at War.

Sales across all regions were up 11 per cent on 2007, with the UK market in particular noting a dramatic increase of 26 per cent. Japan, however, dipped by 13 per cent.

“Because of this amazing growth and coupled with the downturn currently being experienced in Japan, the UK market has for the first time overtaken Japan as the number two world market,” said GfK Chart-Track’s Dorian Bloch in a statement.

Get Healthy With Wii – Jog

Re:creation today announced that it is to feature jOG for Wii on its stand at Toy Fair 2009, the product’s first public appearance in Europe after a highly successful recent debut at CES in Las Vegas. Designed and manufactured by New Concept Gaming, a company dedicated to the development and sale of ground breaking products bridging the video game and health and fitness industries, jOG for Wii will be available for customers to try for themselves at Toy Fair 2009, 28th to 31st January 2009, Excel London.

Releasing in April 2009 for the Nintendo Wii games console, jOG utilises lower body motion sensor technology to measure your steps and translate them to movement in game, not only making gaming a more immersive experience, but also giving a gentle workout, contributing to the recommended 10,000 steps per day. Research from John Moores University shows that converting seated video gaming on the Nintendo Wii into exergaming via the introduction of the jOG system more than tripled energy expenditure and increased heart rate by 40% in young adults.

“We are pleased to be able to offer the trade an opportunity to see – and experience – jOG in action for themselves,” commented New Concept Gaming’s Managing Director, Brendan Ludden. “As well as clear health benefits backed up by independent research, jOG is great fun to play with, and Toy Fair gives us a great opportunity to demonstrate this.”

Seth Bishop, Deputy Managing Director at re:creation added “We’ve had an excellent reaction from the trade to date, and jOG forms an important part of our company’s long term strategy in the gaming peripheral market. Toy Fair 2009 is a milestone for jOG and we’re looking forward to bringing it to market in April.”

jOG for the Nintendo Wii will be available from April 2009 priced around £19.99.
