Some home renovations we can handle on our own but some we need to hire someone to do it for us.  I’m quite handy when it comes to fixing things and give me some shims i can even level a toilet for you.  It’s good to know a few things that way you don’t have to wait for the spouse to do everything or call on a plumber or an electrician but of course not everyone is as handy as I am – and for the more difficult things, the spouse would have to handle it.  I’m just glad that I married a Westerner because my Asian guy friends are not as handy – well unless they had stayed overseas for abit for work or studies then I guess they had no choice but to learn to be handy.

So we got our hands on a PSvita just last week and yesterday I had a chance to play with it a little just to check it out.  It’s bigger than the PSP but it does looked a lot like a PSP if you see the picture below.  So what do I think about it?  I liked it – the screen is bigger and it makes me not worry so much about dropping it.  The color is good and the graphic is sharp.   Ours came with a memory card – 2 GB – so I can store my games in the memory card but I also noticed that the battery lifespan isn’t as long as I had expected but it can be connected to your PS3.

Thus far – I’ve seen quite a few games at other stores – but I don’t know if we will see any come into our store yet since this is a relatively new machine.  We paid less than $200 for it but if I were to go out and get a new one – I would need to pay closed to $250 + tax without a memory card.

The funny thing about the people you meet online and turn into good friends are not because you love the geeky stuff but also food I noticed.  A group of geeky friends and I met during last weekend for some good food and I chose filet mignon because I would only eat filet mignon and nothing else.   When I was a kid I thought the T-bone steaks were the best but now that I’m older and know better – I only order the filet mignon but I’m not the only one who thinks that the filet mignon is the best steak around – all my geek friends think the same way too.  I love my internet friends – they are awesome to the max.

I’ve read about the new XPS13 Ultrabook from Dell and this ultra thin laptop is selling better than I had thought.  Meant to rival the popual Macbook Air – I was kinda skeptical at first if it would be as popular.  So it launched for sale in Feb 2012 and Dell had reported a good sales forecast for the rest of the year.  The Ultra thin Dell is said to go for $999 but half of its sales so far went out to big companies and the other half to consumers like you and I.  Would love to get a hand on one – to see how light they are myself.

We have been having trouble getting a right babysitter for my kid – and I may need to resort to getting an iPad 2 or 3s for her instead even though there had been loads of debate on whether letting your kids play with the iPad while you do your work or chat with friends is a good thing.   What can one do when they are like in my situation whereby you pay someone good money to play with your kids and all they do is sit there and say that they are tired.  Yes!  you heard right?  I’m pretty fed up with hiring and paying good money for someone to babysit my kid when all they do is nothing  but whine.  So freak that !  like I said I’m gonna end up buying a $500 ipad and let my kid be a geeky kid instead.  But of course, having said that I’m not going to let my 8 yrs old play with the iPad the minute she wakes up till she sleeps but when I need to do some other things and I can get her interested in something that she can do on her own – maybe that would be the way to go.  I’m really considering it.  What’s your take on it?

What is the world coming to?  a 4 yrs old kid shooting his father for not buying him a PS3?  How in the world does a 4 yrs old knows how to use a gun?  I’m 47 and I don’t even know how to use one – so whose fault is it?  I’m thinking someone must have shown the 4 yrs old to use the gun – his father?  shot the father in the head?  how did the 4 yrs old get up to his father’s level and shoot him?  The boy is from Saudi Arabia – now there must be something really wrong here.

So how to you impress your future employers?  honesty !  before they do their back ground check it is best to make sure you tell them anything they don’t want to find out on their own.  At least if you are honest, you stand a chance to get hired on but if they did the background check and found out that you omitted telling them – then the chances of you getting the job is absolutely zero.  That would be how I would base my interviews on – when it comes to hiring a new employee.  So think about it – because back ground checks is a necessity for every business, if we don’t do a back ground check then we shouldn’t be hiring.

So someone was at the store the other day and asked me if the Wii Fit Plus that we had on sale  – is it a game or for health and fitness.  Now that was a good question don’t you think?  I think it is both – it can be a game and it can be for your fitness and health.   And yes, I’ve tried the Wii Fit Plus and personally I liked it because you can do it alone or you can do it with friends – and you don’t have to answer to anyone except for the tv and the game/fitness program.  I find that it keeps me moving and it does motivate me to eat less and more healthy.  So if you are looking to get the Wii Fit Plus and worry about it might be more of a game than health and fitness for you – no worries – I think it’s a good investment – but if I were you – i would get a previously used one – they work just as good.   Just my 2 cents worth.

Yes, I never thought I would be listening to anything but jazz or musical or your know classical music – but I’m hooked on a local band called Rain Over St Ambrose.  Maybe a wee bit proud too because they are local band from a small town that my daughter is growing up in but they do play good music and with the right Pioneer DJ Equipment I bet they will make even better music in the future.

Like all local band – I’m sure they started out from home or a friend’s garage and not having much to put into equipments – Rain Over St Ambrose came to light to many people after they won some local competition if I am not wrong. But I do like what I hear and I’m definitely going to try see them when they are next in town.

I’m excited with the musicians they have invited this week and “Bringin it Home ” is the name of the fest this year.  And since it is such a big event for a small town – you can imagine all the buzz and excitement it is bringing to the community.  I’m just happy that the music festival is in May not only later – because the weather can turn cold very quick here.
