I never pretend that I am a SEO expert because I rarely looked into things like that - I blog because I love all techie stuff and being an owner by association to the spouse’s business - being a computer store - with games and consoles and anything gadget - I have to know some techie stuff right? But yes SEO stuff is just as important if you are a blogger and wants people to come visit you and of course you want to be noticed by advertisers too right? be it a private one or a long term advertiser - you not only have to write a good post - you also have to make sure that your blog is highly visible on the search engine.
So you asked me what are search engines? they are like google - yahoo or anywhere on the web where you to go - to look for something - that’s a search engine. And when people are looking for something or anything - they always say - lets google it - or they tell you - go google it - like my ex-doctor’s secretary told me - when I had asked what do I have to take for my low blood. Yes! go google it is a famous and favorite phrase of a lot of people - so when a favorite food blogger wrote that she had spent the entire day adding google author authority to her site - I had to find out what it is. So what is Google Author Authority?
In short and simple words for the ordinary blogger - Google Author Authority is a formula used by Lord Google know that you are a real person and not writing spam and what you write is genuine - thus Lord Google will then reward you with a higher PR. As you all know that a good PR can bring in more money - and private advertisers but there are other factors that advertisers consider before picking your blog. Contents is important but so is the age of your blog - the longer you have been writing on the same blog - that is where your blog credibility comes. Not one year or two but more than 7 yrs - I lately noticed because a blog of mine which just turned 8 yrs old had been having a lot of private advertisers looking to place ads in it.
Now Google Author Authority is not only for bloggers it is also for small business with webpages as well - that is why when I do a website for a customer - they always asked - do you do all the SEO thingie as well? because they want to be first in the search engine when someone is looking for something they carry - so for those who have added Google Author Authority to its website - than you stand to gain because it will help your site appear in more relevant search engine - without you having to do more work.
So how do you add the Google Author Authority into your site? Stay tuned for another post on it.

My kid loved cubes like that with pictures - she had gotten one from her Grandaunt a year ago - so I figured she might enjoy this art ones - that are about art and museums and at less than $10 - I say it’s a good buy for the kid - to keep her busy for abit.

I’m not into Hellboy but I’ve watched the recent movie and do like Hellboy - and I thought I would try and get a hellboy figurine for a little boy/a customer - who comes by the store every other day as a Christmas present. But they were like $90 a piece *shock* - guess I had to find something else - it was way too expensive to splurge on a pair of figurine - sorry Tony!

Yes, we are attending a wedding before the end of the year - in fact it is almost at the end of the year - it’s a wedding of a customer of the store - who turned into a friend this year. It’s on the 30th of this month and we are all excited for him because he really has a very nice fiancee - we really liked her. So we’ve been looking for congratulations gifts for about a month now and still can’t decide what to give. Should we just give cash - which would make us look so impersonal but what would be a great gift for the newly wed? Lucky for us - we found a place with many suggestions - and bought something really nice that they would both loved. But I got side-tracked and bought some personalized memo sheet refills for my kid’s teacher. They were so cheap and so cute - I had to get them for her. Coming back to the wedding - I hope it wouldn’t snow at all that day and the roads are clear ! because we really wanna attend the wedding.

Yes! pretty cool right? Christmas is just 2 days away and we finally got our shed house lights up - and this is a DIY project that the spouse and I copied from another friend who lived down the road. Actually is pretty easy but of course, we needed electrical help from a friend and it didn’t cost us anything - pretty snazzy if you asked me.

It’s actually called the Free Hand Gloves but I called it the free finger gloves because for text messaging or holding your camera to click and take a picture - you only need like 2 fingers ! and this has gotta be the coolest invention for all who lives in a cold country like USA and Canada.

You lift off the fingers you need to use to do your texting and clicking your camera and that’s it - you don’t have to remove your entire gloves and freeze anymore. Pretty cool right? Buy them from FAB for a special price now - or go to Freehands.com - and get it from $10 - $40. The newest and made of leather ones are a bit more pricier at $70 but the index finger and thumb caps are held back with magnets and made of real leather. For the modern girl in you or a girlfriend who is hard to buy for this Christmas - pick this free fingers gloves and she will loved it.
So someone asked me - how do geeks shop for Christmas? in which I had to laugh because we shop for all our gifts online - wherelse and how else right? how can one be called a techy chick when we don’t find the best things in life on the internet. I shop for cigars for the outlaws and the uncles on an internet cigar stores - there are so many internet cigar stores to choose from - and when you find one that you like - you order from them always. I have some internet stores that I rely on for all my gifts - whether for myself, for the spouse or the kid - I know I can count on these stores for the perfect gift that you can’t find elsewhere. I don’t know what we would do without the internet eh.

Pink is definitely pretty - but you must be wondering what do they do right? I wondered too - I walked around Staples the other day and saw these on sale. So I looked at it - and it didn’t really tell me a lot. These buckyballs has 216 neo-magnet balls and are made with nickel finish. Well, I found a video on youtube on it - and it looked pretty fun - basically - you just turned them into things and shapes you want. Apparently, these are made to relieve stress but not for kids to play with - guess they are afraid that kids may swallow them - and I won’t rule that out - because I pushed an eraser into my nose when I was a kid. What was I thinking right? Pretty amusing - and it would cost you like $30 for them - after shipping.

A very interesting lamp when lighted up but a pretty simple one too - using multi-color rubber band - the glass is made out of blown glass and definitely a great piece of decor and lamp for a corner table - but to spend $120 for a lamp - well, if i had the extra money - no problem at all. But when it isn’t lighted up - it sure doesn’t look as beautiful nor as interesting.

During the summer, the spouse and his nephews from Toronto went treasure hunting at the Bunkers Island with some garretts metal detectors that they had been given for Christmas last year. So this year’s Christmas - the kid had asked for one of those metal detectors as well - in her Christmas wish list. I’m guessing the reason why she wanted one for her own is because her cousins didn’t let her play with theirs when they had gone to Bunkers island during summer - so she didn’t have a lot of fun. The metal detectors can be bought at a local store in the mall - and the prices range from $100 - $1000 - depending on how detailed you want the detectors to be. I read some reviews on the metal detectors - and some were said to be very good on detection and identification of the object and I want one that is easy to use - since the kid is so young. I also prefer a light weight metal detector for her, so that she don’t abandon it halfway through their treasure hunting. Oh well, I want her to have fun with her cousins during the summer - so we will go ahead and get that for her.
